The Renaissance Gala will be an evening of advocacy, awareness, and allyship that will honor those who courageously fight the cancer battle. Cancer survivors will be recognized as well as awards presented to individuals and organizations who have helped the CBAC make significant strides in the fight against cancer. Former Phoenix Suns Eddie Johnson will serve as the Master of Ceremonies and guests are asked to wear Harlem Renaissance or Roaring 20s attire.
This year, three awards will be presented:
The Rising Phoenix Award - Mayo Clinic
The Spirit of the Fight Award - Janssen Oncology
The Barbra Watson-Riley Award – Fry’s Food Store
Funds raised from the Renaissance Gala will help carry out the CBAC’s mission to provide high-quality, reliable information and support to Black cancer patients and to educate the Black community about cancer prevention, diagnosis, and screening. Black Americans are more likely to be diagnosed with and die from breast and prostate cancers than individuals from other ethnic backgrounds. Tickets and sponsor information are available on the organization’s website. There, you will also find an option to support cancer survivors by purchasing a ticket for a survivor to attend the Renaissance Gala.
